Seasons Calendars
for the Rainbow Coast of Western Australia

Rainbow Coast Sky The weather of the Rainbow Coast is most accurately described by the Noongar people of the south west.

The Noongar, having lived in the South West for centuries, have divided the year into six distinct seasons that are even more earth sensitive than the Western four - and more accurate for determining when you want to visit.

The locals know it as the best weather in WA. The frequent mix of showers and sun create the magical Rainbows from which the coast gets its name. The strength of nature is ever present, with a landscape dominated by waterways, wind and wilderness.

Warming, with rains finishing. Longer dry periods and fewer cold fronts cross the coast. The height of the wildflower season. Noongar moved towards the coast where frogs, tortoises and freshwater crayfish were caught.

The spring is the wildflower season along the Rainbow Coast. It is the only time you can see magnificent flowers along the coast, heathland and forested canopy. The colours are amazing - and are everywhere.
