MOOMBAKI Wines: Off the Beaten Track, Worth the Journey
MOOMBAKI is a small, family-run winery with a reputation for producing distinctive, hand-crafted wines. The property borders the pristine Kent River, set halfway between Denmark and Walpole, making it an ideal stop for those exploring the region. A short drive off the main road brings you to the rustic cellar door, where complimentary tastings showcase estate-grown, hand-picked wines that reflect the character of this unique location. Alongside the wines, the cellar door displays artworks by resident artist Melissa Boughey, whose paintings are inspired by the ever-changing colours and forms of the surrounding landscape. It’s a relaxed setting that combines creativity, nature, and fine wine. Dogs are welcome to visit with their owners, though caravans are not suited as there is no turning space on the track. With a warm family welcome and a philosophy that life’s too short to drink mediocre wine, MOOMBAKI offers a genuine taste of the Great Southern.

Our winery has a 5 star rating from James Halliday, visit the cellar door to sample the range wines from the esteemed Kalgan River vineyard. Beyond the cellar door is the expansive dining area overlooking the brewery and kitchen offering space for a large group or an intimate meal for two. The menu features seasonal, local produce, French inspired desserts and wood fired pizzas. Craft beer is brewed on site. The extensive beer garden is the perfect spot to relax over a hand-crafted brew while enjoying the life music over the summer months. The children will be entertained with the well-equipped toy corner and outdoor shaded playground. The Brewery & Restaurant are open 7 days from 10 am for lunch & dinner.

Our cellar door is only 7 kilometres from the Tree Top Walk; drive along Valley of the Giants Road and follow our signs. One of the few meaderies in Australia, it has won many awards, and is a must see destination offering award winning mead, pure unprocessed honey and home-made honey ice cream. Visit us to see a glass beehive where you can spot the queen and choose from many bee and honey related gifts, including toys, skin care and even hand knitted beanies. Our hives are kept in the most pristine forests and natural bush land of WA's south west. With no chemicals or antibiotics used, and each hive being unpainted on the inside, we adhere to organic guidelines. Surrounded by Native Bushland, we are open 7 days and closed on Christmas Day.
